Tank Joint Review R30.
Geometry, analysis and remaining engineering work for Tank Joint Review R30.
Retained development study. Dimensions, names and checks belong to this revision—not automatically to the retrofit-only product. Manufactured tank shells are deferred. No installation instruction, certification or manufacturing release is represented.
The source reasoning
Why this detail was investigated.
Both current tank sizes have a nominal 5 mm open roof-to-body gap. This geometry is shared by SUB1500 / SUBENG1500 and SUB2000 / SUBENG2000. A 3 mm-high cross-wall probe passes through the gap without touching either part. This establishes an open geometric path, not a measured leak rate.

The sections below are cut from the actual R12 solids and reimported from STEP to verify their geometry. They expose the roof, end walls and base through a 30 mm-wide longitudinal slice.
- 1500-size roof/body section - 2000-size roof/body section - Measured joint evidence
The joint needs a defined structural bearing path, sealing land/groove, controlled compression, clamp/fastener layout and service procedure. Material/laminate properties, design loads, creep, tolerances and environmental exposure must determine those details. Filling the gap with an arbitrary solid would not establish a sealed or structurally qualified joint.
No tank is manufacturing released. These section exports are review evidence; they are not fabrication sections or validated laminate schedules.
