Tank Groove R33.
Geometry, analysis and remaining engineering work for Tank Groove R33.
Retained development study. Dimensions, names and checks belong to this revision—not automatically to the retrofit-only product. Manufactured tank shells are deferred. No installation instruction, certification or manufacturing release is represented.

Why this detail was investigated.
The R32 space reservation is now represented as a separate grooved-body candidate for both tank sizes. It is not promoted to the current shop or manufacturing assembly.

the study.
Source-linked work for this revision. Reported checks describe the stated model or test; physical qualification and applicability to the current retrofit remain separate.
The R32 space reservation is now represented as a separate grooved-body candidate for both tank sizes. It is not promoted to the current shop or manufacturing assembly.
Nominal groove dimensions are 12 mm wide × 6 mm deep, with a 100 mm centerline corner radius and bottom at Z1749. These are study dimensions, not approved machining dimensions. The source follows the preceding hypothetical seal-sizing study; no gasket compound, supplier tolerance or operating rating has been selected.
- 1500-size grooved body - 2000-size grooved body - 1500-size joint detail - 2000-size joint detail - Geometry evidence - Focused tests
Checks confirm single valid body solids, no roof interference, remaining roof contact, the expected removed volume and a continuous 6 mm-deep material band immediately below the groove. Focused tests check removed groove space and retained adjacent material on both sizes. Full-body and section STEP reimports are verified.
The casing is still nominal occupied geometry rather than a qualified laminate. Groove-root radii, core closeout, surface finish, tolerances, actual seal retention and joining, pressure direction, compression set, flange movement and clamping remain unresolved. These geometry checks do not establish strength or watertightness. Complete internal/assembly integration and full R33 regression remain open.

This section uses the R33 body and R34 free seal geometry. The roof is raised 10 mm for visibility. Orange identifies the ideal uncompressed seal; it does not specify material or depict validated compression. The solid casing section does not represent a qualified laminate stack. All rendered meshes were checked against their exported CAD vertices after reopening the Blender file.
