Tank Bearing R31.
Geometry, analysis and remaining engineering work for Tank Bearing R31.
Retained development study. Dimensions, names and checks belong to this revision—not automatically to the retrofit-only product. Manufactured tank shells are deferred. No installation instruction, certification or manufacturing release is represented.
The source reasoning
Why this detail was investigated.
This candidate extends each existing flat top rim by 5 mm toward the unchanged roof. It closes the modeled unsupported gap on the 3370 mm and 4410 mm shell sizes. The extended bodies are valid single solids, reach the roof within numerical tolerance, and do not overlap it.

- 1500-size bearing section - 2000-size bearing section - Geometry checks
The extension follows the actual flat rim face; it is not a new independent rectangular shell. The roof, risers and exterior proportions remain unchanged in this candidate. Added nominal solid volume is approximately 4.55 L and 5.53 L respectively; these are geometry volumes, not qualified laminate quantities or mass estimates.
This is a bearing-geometry development candidate, not a watertight joint. Seal/groove design, compression stops, clamping, laminate/material selection, bearing stress, creep and manufacturing tolerances remain unresolved. Complete standard-partition and engineered-internal integration has not been requalified. Current production or shop assemblies have not been promoted to this candidate.
The earlier R12 open-joint geometry remains available in the R30 review for comparison. No fabrication release or burial/load rating is established.
Four-variant assembly integration
Both standard variants include the existing R11 partition layers, which clear the changed body and roof. Both access paths pass the 508 mm nominal gauge check with lids removed. All four full STEP exports pass reimport validity, solid-count and volume checks. Engineered variants remain process-empty shells. This does not establish operating capacity, structural performance or seal qualification.
